How to keep receipt photos on your phone without an account
By A1KnowHow, maker of Receipt Camera · Updated
Receipt Camera saves receipt photos on your Android phone without internet or an account. Find them in the app’s gallery or the Receipt Camera album in your phone’s photo app. Receipt Camera does not upload them. If you use a separate backup app, check whether it copies that album online.
How to save receipt photos without an account
- Capture and save a scan. Take a photo of the receipt, check that the edges are right and tap Save. You do not need an account.
- Find the saved photo. Press and hold Capture, then tap Gallery. You can also open your phone’s photo app and look for the Receipt Camera album.
- Choose when to share. Share a photo from the gallery, or select several photos and tap Export PDF. You choose which app to share the file with. Receipt Camera does not send it to us.
Where are my receipt photos?
Open your phone’s photo app and look for the Receipt Camera album. In a file manager, look in Pictures/Receipt Camera. The gallery inside Receipt Camera shows only photos saved with this app.
To make a PDF (Portable Document Format), select photos in the gallery and tap Export PDF. Tap Share and choose an app that can save or send the file. The PDF is not added to your photo album.
Can Google Photos back up my receipts?
Yes, if backup is turned on for the Receipt Camera folder. In Google Photos, tap your profile picture, then Photos settings, Backup and Back up device folders. Check the Receipt Camera folder and the option to back up all folders. See Google’s device-folder backup guidance.
Receipt Camera does not control Google Photos or other backup apps. You decide whether those apps copy your photos online.
How can I check that scanning works offline?
Once the app is installed, turn on flight mode. Take a photo, save it and open it in the gallery. You can make a PDF too. Receipt Camera does not need an internet connection for any of these steps.
Keep a second copy of important receipts
Photos kept only on your phone can be lost if the phone is lost or damaged. Copy important receipts to another device or a backup you choose. Open the copies to check them before deleting anything from your phone.
Receipt Camera does not make an online backup for you. Do not rely on reinstalling the app to recover lost photos. Read the Receipt Camera privacy policy for the app’s permissions and data handling.
