How it works
Photograph a receipt or letter in three steps: set up the phone over a dark surface, capture one page, then check the crop and save. A stand is optional, but it helps when you have a pile. Even light and a dark table give the best photos.
Take the photo
Tap Capture. The screen stays on while you work through the pile. One photo per page. The app asks for the camera so it can photograph receipts and documents.
Check and save
The app finds the page and cuts away the table. A green frame means it found the paper. A red frame means drag the corners yourself. Then pick a look and save to your photos.

Not another scanner that needs an account or the cloud - no ads, no subscription, nothing uploaded. Capture and save stay offline on your phone.

Finds the page
After you take the photo, the app spots the paper, straightens it, and cuts away the table. You can always drag the corners if you want a different area. Green frame: it found the page. Red frame: you set the corners yourself.

Can I scan receipts for tax?
Yes. It makes a readable photo you can keep as proof. It is not Making Tax Digital software and does not file tax or extract totals.
Does Receipt Camera do OCR or expense tracking?
No. It does not pull text off the page or track expenses. It makes a clear photo that is easier to read - for tax evidence or your accountant - and leaves the numbers to you or your bookkeeping app.
Are photos uploaded?
No. Photographing and saving do not need the internet. Nothing is uploaded by the app. If you tap Share, you choose where the file goes on your phone.
Is Receipt Camera free?
Yes. This Google Play app is totally free, with no ads and no subscription. Pro and A1KnowHow apps are separate listings planned for later.
How do I get Receipt Camera during closed testing?
Join the receiptcamera-testers Google Group with the Google account you will use on your phone. Then open the Play tester link, tap Become a tester, and install from Google Play - same account for all three steps.
Where do photos save?
Photos save as PNG files in the Receipt Camera album at
Pictures/Receipt Camera on Android.
What is coming after the free app?
Pro and A1KnowHow are separate apps coming later. Pro is planned for several receipts in one photo with a one-time purchase. A1KnowHow will use the same camera and send photos into A1KnowHow. Neither is in this free app.
